The agent of Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina has poured cold water on suggestions that the Spaniard is seeking a move away from the club.
Reina has become a crowd favourite at Anfield since joining from Villarreal in 2005, however, the 30-year-old has endured a mixed start to the new campaign.
Indeed, the Spanish international has been guilty of a number of errors so far this season, with the blame placed on him for goals conceded against Manchester City, Arsenal and Hearts.
However – despite his below-par form, and reports linking Swansea’s Dutch goalkeeper Michel Vorm with a move to Anfield – Reina’s agent, Manuel Garcia Quilon, was keen to stress that his client has no desire to leave Liverpool.
He told CalcioMercato: “There is no problem right now. Pepe has played many games in the Liverpool shirt and is used to all kinds of rumours.
“It is clear he is not having an easy time because the team has not started the season well and liability is falling on him.
“But this will end when he returns to form. He still has four years to run on his contract and rumours of leaving Liverpool are just that – rumours.”
