It has been a hugely emotional week for all connected with Liverpool Football Club but the focus will return to football once again when Brendan Rodgers’ side face a trip to the Stadium of Light to take on Sunderland on Saturday evening.
Liverpool sit in the bottom three of the Premier League table, having secured just one point – courtesy of a home draw with Manchester City – from their opening three fixtures and Rodgers will be desperate to see his side pick up a victory as they look to climb the table.
The Reds are chalked up as 5/4 (2.25) favourites with PanBet to claim their first victory of the season on Saturday while Martin O’Neill’s side can be backed at PanBet’s 5/2 (3.50) quote to bag a win in their first home fixture of the new campaign. The same firm go 12/5 (3.40) that the match ends in a draw.
Sunderland were victorious when the two sides clashed at the Stadium of Light in March and a repeat of that 1-0 success for Martin O’Neill’s Black Cats is chalked up at a chunky 10/1 (11.0) with PanBet while a 1-0 win for the visitors is available at 67/10 (7.70) with the same firm.
Liverpool have managed just two goals in their opening three games this season and Brendan Rodgers’ side look to be suffering from a lack of options in the final third so a tight match can be anticipated here.
Subsequently, PanBet’s 4/5 (1.80) for fewer than three goals to be scored looks to be outstanding value here and should attract plenty of support.
Rodgers will hope that his side finally click into gear and show their potential here but Martin O’Neill’s team are sure to prove stubborn opponents. Both sides may be forced to settle for a point apiece this weekend, so the draw at 12/5 (3.40) looks great value while PanBet’s 33/5 (7.60) quote for a 1-1 draw is sure to appeal to value hunters.
