Reds first-team coach Mike Marsh has revealed that the injured pair, who both withdrew from international duty this week, are on course to return against the Baggies
Liverpool first-team coach Mike Marsh has revealed that both Daniel Sturridge and Raheem Sterling are expected to be fit to face West Brom on Monday evening.
The pair had been named in the senior and Under-21 England squads for friendlies against Brazil and Sweden respectively this, but were both forced to withdraw due to injury.
However, Marsh believes that the attacking duo will recover in time to be in contentions for the Baggies’ visit to Anfield.
“They’ve both been in for treatment,” he told the club’s official website. “They were not available to play for England due to the injuries they’ve picked up.
“Raheem’s has been a bit more long standing – in old school terms, he’s got a dead leg – and Daniel picked his up at the weekend, but with a bit of luck and treatment hopefully they’ll both be available for Monday night.”
