The injured Italian forward’s representative insists he is not looking to leave the Merseyside club despite a difficult first season at Anfield and interest from Fiorentina
Liverpool striker Fabio Borini is happy at the club and will not be going anywhere, according to his agent, despite a difficult first season at Anfield hampered by injury.
The former Swansea City striker’s representative says that his client has no interest in a move to Serie A with Fiorentina despite a difficult first year at Anfield.
Borini has already missed a large portion of the season with a fractured foot, and is expected to miss the rest of the campaign after dislocating his shoulder against his former club in Sunday’s 5-0 rout.
“His future is definitely at Liverpool,” Marco De Marchi, his agent, told The Sun. “He’s signed a long-term deal with one of the most glorious sides in the world game.
“From now think only to work hard to get back as soon as possible in the field. Needless to say he’s had an unlucky season.”
The comments from the Italy striker’s agent come in response to news in Italy that Fiorentina have identified the player as a target in the summer transfer window, with their sporting director Daniel Prado telling Radio Toscana: “We seek a striker with a hunger for goals in their DNA, a player who lives for the goal.
“We like Fabio Borini, but it’s hard to see that Liverpool will let him go.”
