The centre-back believes that adapting to a new playing style under the 40-year-old has temporarily hindered the Reds’ chances of success but is confident of a turnaround
Liverpool defender Daniel Agger believes that Brendan Rodgers will bring success to the club if given enough time.
The Reds saw their last chance of silverware this season ended by defeat to Zenit St Petersburg in the Europa League last-32 and remain some way off the pace in the battle for Champions League qualification.
However, the 28-year-old believes the Merseyside club are undergoing a period of transition, and has backed his team-mates to emerge stronger next season.
“It is a club that will have trophies, I think it goes without saying,” the Dane told reporters.
“I believe it will come, of course. It will not be this year, because we are changing the style of play as we have not got the results we would have wanted but we have played well.
“There have been a few worries and it has something to do with stability and we must also have a bigger squad. These are the things we need to work towards next season.
“If we can keep the same level in more matches than we do this year it will look better for next season.”
