The club have confirmed the forward has suffered a “small strain” but will be given the chance to prove he is fit to play in Sunday’s match at Carrow Road
Liverpool say they will give Daniel Sturridge “every opportunity to prove his fitness” ahead of Sunday’s Premier League clash with Norwich City.
The 24-year-old was forced off during Liverpool’s 3-2 win over Manchester City last Sunday with a hamstring injury and the club have confirmed the forward has suffered a “small strain”.
Sturridge has scored 20 goals in the Premier League this season, while Liverpool sit two points clear at the top of the table with four matches remaining.
However, Rodgers will definitely be without midfielder Jordan Henderson for the trip to Carrow Road following his red card against City.
The 23-year-old will miss Liverpool’s next three matches but will be available for the club’s final game of the season against Newcastle United on May 11.
