Jon Flanagan has suffered a further setback after undergoing surgery on a troublesome knee problem and is likely to be out for anywhere between six and nine months. Flanagan suffered the injury in pre-season and hasn’t played a game for Liverpool this season, but was on the road to recovery and played in the Gerrard vs Carragher charity game.
However Flanagan’s knee problem resurfaced and he was again advised surgery.
Flanagan is out of contract at Anfield in the summer, and while he does have a role in Brendan Rodgers’ future plans for the team, it is imperative for him to prove his fitness and get some games under his belt
