At one stage in last night’s fixtures, Liverpool were level on points with second placed Tottenham Hotspur, with the Reds leading 2-1 at home against Bournemouth and Spurs trailing 1-0 at the Liberty Stadium. Then in the space of five odd second half minutes it all changed, with Joshua King scoring an equaliser for Bournemouth in the 87th minute.
At the Liberty, Alli equalised for Spurs in the 88th minute, and the Lilywhites scored two more times in stoppage time and all of a sudden, Spurs were five points clear of the Reds.
Another disappointing performance against a bottom half of the table league team from the Reds
Jurgen Klopp’s side were however aided by Man City’s 2-1 loss to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, meaning that Liverpool remain third, two ahead of City (who have a game in hand over the Reds)
