Mo Salah notched up his 30th goal of the season as Liverpool’s first knockout Champions League game in nearly a year saw them demolish Porto in Lisbon.
Senegal international Mane became the first Reds player to score a European away hat trick since Michael Owen in 2002, netting in the 25th, 53rd and 85th minutes of the game as Liverpool gave themselves the cushion of a big lead ahead of the second leg, which will be played just a few days before their blockbuster clash at Old Trafford against Manchester United.
Salah also exhibited supreme skill for his goal, with Roberto Firmino also getting on the scoresheet.
The return leg will be played on 6 March.
