The first leg of Liverpool’s Champions League Round of 16 tie will now be played at the Budapest Arena in Hungary. Covid regulations in Germany meant that Liverpool would not be allowed entry into Leipzig for their clash on February 16 and the Bundesliga outfit have now chosen the Hungarian capital as the venue for the fixture.
Liverpool’s clash isn’t the only one likely to be re-arranged with Manchester City (v Gladbach), Arsenal (v Benfica) and Chelsea (v Atleti) and Man Utd (v Sociedad) all expected to have to travel to Eastern Europe to fulfill their respective commitments.
