Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel has described team-mate Luis Suarez as “one of the best strikers in the world”, insisting he is “unplayable” on his day.
The Uruguay international has hit 15 goals in all competitions for the Reds so far this season, with his own impressive performances often in stark contrast to a side struggling for consistency.
And Skrtel has highlighted the importance of having an in-form Suarez in the team, telling the club’s official website: “Luis is unbelievable and for me one of the best strikers in the world.
“I play against him every day in training so I know it’s not easy. He is playing well and scoring goals and fingers crossed he can carry on this form.
“It’s good he’s in our team because a lot of defenders have nightmares about him because he is unplayable.
“He’s a great striker and nice man as well and I’m happy he is with me at Liverpool.”
Liverpool travel to Russia to take on Anzhi Makhachkala in the Europa League on Thursday evening.
