Liverpool stumbled to a disappointing 1-0 loss at home to Burnley, their first at home in the league at Anfield in nearly four years. The local Echo paper ran the headline “Burned out” and here were their player ratings for LFC’s players as Burnley and Sean Dyche claimed a famous win.

The first FA Cup clash of this weekend’s round of fixtures went to Liverpool, who comfortably emerged 4-1 winners in Birmingham, with Aston Villa essentially deploying a youth team for this fixture. Sadio Mane scored a brace, and not surprisingly, was rated the best of LFC’s starting bunch. Wijnaldum and Salah also got on the scoresheet.
Liverpool suffered a rare loss as Ralph Hasenhuttl’s Southampton stunned them at St.Mary’s on Monday night. The only goal of the game came from a former LFC player- Danny Ings, in the second minute of the game. The result means Man Utd are now top of the league.
Here is a look at the LFC player ratings for the game from the local Echo paper. They were in particular disappointed with the performance of right back Trent Alexander Arnold and thought skipper Jordan Henderson was the best of the starters.
